Would you consider this an unreasonable request?

A couple of days ago, I was pottering about in the bell-tower of the mansion, when I came across my old catapult 'Diablo's Folly'. I dusted it off and thought it would be rather fun to try it out again. So, I got one of the pig carcasses from the chiller and loaded it on. However, I wasn't prepared for the speed at which it took off. The pig travelled some 200 yards in the air, going through the stain-glass window of the village church and breaking a coffin lid, during a funeral. I have now received a letter from the reverend, demanding over £8000 for a replacement stain-glass and a written apology to the mourners, who bore witness to a pig assaulting their departed loved one.

Is this fair and reasonable that I should pay for something, I have little regard for?
