Not the angel nor the demon of life

It upholds itself somewhere in between

Its blade can be a crimson stained knife

Or a sword that refines an evil clean

~

Vigor and passion, mere stems of its state

Not the angel nor the demon of life

Once set ablaze, there remains just one fate

To be slain by its crimson stained knife

~

Yet by the same blade, that same tainted knife

Each one of its sins can become undone.

Not the angel nor the demon of life

Some consider its title as a pun

~

Contained, it provides all with protection

Shielding from sin with the crimson stained knife

It remains without a clear connection

Not the angel nor the demon of life
