She sits in a corner
Tears slip from her eyes
No one sees her
She has everywhere to hide
She writes by candlelight
Waiting for morning to come
She wants a buzz
Just a few drops of blood. . .
And then some
She turns on the water
Her scars sting like hell
The pain overcomes her
She wants to yell
The late night air
Haunts her with shadows
She's a child of the day
But it engulfs her with sorrow
I'm a friend to anyone
But who will love me?
He strokes her hair,
Tells her lovingly,
"Precious daughter,
I've already set you free"
"It sure doesn't feel like it,"
She quickly retorts
"And I feel all out of sorts"
"Return to my Presence,
Feel my peace
Then you'll know
Loneliness is bittersweet:
Again comes the sobs
"Seeking you is my job
But how long until I am with you?
This world feels like a cage."
"Let me make your mind new
Because you know
When battles rage
That I, the King, still reigns!"
She opened her Bible
And read in the Psalms
Then just after 3 am
She finally felt calm
She woke that morning
With no despair
In her heart
And remembering her Abba's love
She fell apart
While she read,
He took her into His Arms
Rocked her gently to sleep
Kept her from harm
"Thank you, Creator King
For loving me"
"I'm always with you, my child
And always making you new"
