The lighthouse stands stone still by the sea
Beckoning, reckoning with rays of red, blue, and green
It throws its light night and day
Guiding the lone ships that wander astray
I've thought it once, I've thought it twice
And I've thought the thought to be very nice
To compare our Lord and reigning King
To compare to a lighthouse
Of all marvelous things
Sure he's our refuge, strongtower, and strength
The Only Heir to sing over us at the end of the day
But God is a lighthouse
Calling us back to His grace
Where we rest and play on the shore
And sing praises to Him on High forevermore
He grants us the one thing sometime soon
To see his face, to bask in his Glorious Embrace
But most of all to hear him say
"Well done, my good and faithful servant
You have one the race."
Until that day that is approaching fast
When we're clothed in righteousness
And earthly things are infinitely less
We have this hope, but lest we forget
Just look at it standing on the Chesapeake
Bathed in fingers of Kool-Aid pink
Friends, no matter in life, night or day
It always makes a way
Not an it, but an Almight He
He's my Jesus-- My Lighthouse who loves me
