The price of happiness is but a minimal fee

Easily one can give,

For what use is a human heart to me

What use but just to live?

I gave it when my heart grew fond,

These words are sad and true.

I awoke to find my heart gone

Mournful love in which it had grew.

It broke, not in two, but in three,

For unrequited love is the worst.

My heart burst at the seams, but see,

The first heartbreak: Always the worst.

The price of happiness is but a small fee,

Easily one can live.

But what use is a broken heart to me?

Was that my right to give?
