Allegedly the orthodontist couldn't find anything wrong with my teeth. She wore a wooly scarf and 3 more layers of big fur coats,
she looked down at me and said, "Now that I've seen that everything is working right, I think you deserve a little treat for keeping your teeth sparkling clean"

Helen the orthodontist produced 2 big lollipops, one for me and one for her! They were all the colours of the rainbow spiralling inside a large round piece of candy attached to a big stick. I reached out my hand and took hold of the stick, it was unbelievably heavy and the piece of candy was almost bigger than my whole head.

I took my first bite of it with all my teeth showing and made a small indent into the round surface of the candy. But then, Helen, SHOUTED "NO! What in the world do you think you're doing, don't use your teeth, you'll break them in half!" I shuddered at the thought.

Next thing I know the colours of the candy stick start to come alive. There is red and green and blue and pink yellow and orange and purple my mind is racing. I hear Helen talking off in the distance, but I can't make out what she is saying, I hear a door slam shut and her presence leaves the room - all I can focus on now is the spinning wheel of candy whose colours have send me into a frenzy unlike any that I had ever seen before.
"What was in that piece of candy?" I thought.
When I took another bite this time I munched straight through to the centre of the candy; it was rock hard on the outside and I did lose all of my teeth, the front ones the back ones, and of course there was blood. I wanted to cry but I was in too much pain. Then I took one more bite and that was the final straw. I had died, knowing just exactly why and in the end that was all I really needed. Collapsing on the floor I tasted a sweet sensation inside my mouth. I was alive. And I never ate another piece of candy, ever.
