Summary

I wrote this story after I went to this youth group night and one of the kids there was talking about how hard it would be to imagine just pure nothingness, like our brains can't even comprehend it, and i thought about it for ages, and he was right, but that was a long time ago and this story is what i think my nothing might look like.

A long while ago, I took a walk to the edge of the earth and I jumped. I jumped and then I hit the ground. The ground was soft and felt like a big fluffy cushion made of feathers. I felt the feathers as they tumbled underneath my fall. I watched it all and then I did it again. I looked out across the earth and saw a lot of things. So many things that when I blinked it was all gone. The sky was coloured a pale blue and the sun was like a golden ball of fire sitting high above the civilization. The water was cold and peaceful and the mountains were very tall. This is all I could take from the quick glimpse that I got of this world. All I knew is that it was forever changing. Everything changed, but the people in it didn’t so much. The people were like much smaller versions of the buildings they had built. The buildings were like giant hands reaching up in to the perfect sky. When the rain began to fall I almost forgot it all. A rain drop dripped on to my nose and suddenly I felt very cold. With the rain came the fog to hide everything away and after it cleared everything was gone, for real this time. Just nothing.
