Father, why did you go? Why didn't you stay? You could have changed the lives Of the kids you didn't raise No memories of you Nor the feeling of being wanted Only a chair by that window Where I had always waited

Daddy, where have you gone? Mommy cried at the table for days And you weren't there to hold her Or wipe away those tears that stained They fell from our faces And we noticed your things were gone Your memory haunts us And only one thing remains That hole in the hearts Of the kids you didn't raise
