Profession: A better way to say I love you

You're next to me  with you

I am fine to

Then it happens, by accident really, quick, without thought, clearly

The words spill from my mouth and onto the floor

The echoes linger in the air

And soon after, I realize what I had just said,

What I had just done

I instantly lunge towards the wooden floor

Try to pick up the alphabetical pieces of  this 3 worded phrase

But it is too late I was not fast enough

The "I love you" had already soaked into the wood

Its scarlet red letters staring up at me

While I am on my hands and knees

I pick myself up and the air is thick

With my profession of love

The echoes of my erratic I love you

Swarm around me

Whisper to me what I fear most the possibility of

Unrequited feelings

Before I start to panic

I will say that phrase once more

This time with some purpose behind it

The purpose is for you to decipher

"I love you"

This time the words plaster on your walls

Echo louder, swarm around both of us

Whisper to you my truth

Continue to whisper to me my fear

You stare at me with a semi-surprised look on your face

Your blue-grey eyes, that I love so much, have a bright glint in them

I think you suspected that I had feelings for you

But you were not sure

I start to panic because you have not responded yet

I am quite panicky, I think too much and in too much depth,

Have you wondered why I am a poet

Well now you know

As I am panicking, letting my thoughts get to me

You instantly calm my nerves

Banish my thoughts and fear

You  tell me...

I love you too

Your words spill on the floor next to mine

Plaster on the walls right below mine

Linger in the air with my echoes of professed love

They all come together

Combine to make a short, sweet poem

That fits us perfectly:

"One you

One us 

One Love"
