Queen And Country

Prepare, prepare yourself to fight.

Prepare your hearts for Death's cold hand

The images will seem To rule the day,

In a foreign country Among a foreign crowd

Guns are on attack blazing fire smoke fills the air

The noise is so loud. The smell of death is in the air.

The days are long. The nights are tiring and cold

But still we have to be alert and fight cause it does not stop

Battle rages on, bombing veils the rising sun.

Blistering bombs and bullets are Bombarding us

As we try to stand and fight

Some soldiers bleeding as they stand, Shouting out for a hand.

Bullets flying frantically, Slicing everything in sight.

Trudging men seek out their death. Which lies ahead.

All emotion, all caring, all feeling are gone Just to survive is on

Our heavy packs they rub and chafe our aching backs
The wet boots suck from clinging mud
And rub great blisters full of blood but we still fight on

And continue on as human shells. Who have seen too much destruction,

And death, blood, and missing body parts fill your mind.

We will never…be quite the same

So dear the deadly price we have to pay cause from the very beginning

We swore to fight for queen and country. And that we must do

Until we fall in our own pool of blood or until someone says

Stop its over we are done. But till that day that minute that second comes

We shall fight to the death or till there is no one left.

So let's fight for queen and country and get the job done,

And hopefully get back to the ones that keep us going and keep us strong

Our loved ones.
