Out of Darkness Comes Light

When the star mother opened her womb, they both came out together- Darkon and Photon. As they grew up, Darkon has become a skilled sprinter and would roam around their kingdom in a flash, but Photon preferred an unflustered life in the comfort of the gravitational field of his Mom. He could pulsate faster but was spatially constrained to the star mother.

Darkon had the speed at his advantage. The mother often had to remind him the irrefutable law of the universe, “Thou shall not surpass the speed of light.”

It’s time for the twins to leave their home- a long journey that would take them billions of years  and on their way, the mother promised, they would encounter a planet that was in the making just  a billion years after the mother star was settled in the galaxy suburbs. She insisted that the twins follow the law of her kingdom, the only other law known to her at that time-the zeroth law. “You must play the game-fair game.”

The twins pledged to work in concert. Darkon readily shared his speed with Photon and sought to remain in thermal equilibrium with his brother as they cruise through the universe. The star mother assured that as long as they remain in harmony the planet they would eventually visit will be in a twilight zone eternally.

“You shall keep it until the end, and then the whole assembly of the beings that would emerge on the planet will never fight and kill in twilight”, said the star mother.

“They will prevail forever; and they will not separate from one another as they seek the truth collectively forever. For I am here to save them from malice that would otherwise settle in their mind,” declared the thundering voice of the mother.

As the twins left the photosphere, their memory dwindled, hearts hardened and as a result their pledge to their mother is somewhat elapsed.

“I am dying from inside. Feed me some of your speed “, begged Photon.

“We are in equilibrium and you should be fine”, said Darkon.

‘Well, it’s not a perfect two body problem anymore. As I run into more material on the way, I feel tired”, clarified Photon.

Darkon conceded. He fell into a trap brewed from the shrewdness that permeated the mind of Photon as he interacted with the material world. Apparently, Photon spotted the planet first that dashed hope of their mother who dreamed the coexistence of the twins on the planet.

Darkon was left behind and the zeroth law is now violated. Just after the eighth minute of their journey, Photon reached the spinning rock that has just coalesced into existence. He roamed the planet several times, eventually conspired with the organic molecules to create conscious beings that can see the world only through the eyes of a Photon.

And finally, when the Darkon arrived no one was there to perceive his presence. With a battered soul, he saw E = hf inscribed everywhere. He felt dreadfully let down by the beings that were now evolved to say: “Photon is the truth and so is the light. Darkness (Darkon) does not exist as it is just the absence of light.” Unable to endure this torment, Darkon turned back and continued his journey to find a serene planet where the sentient beings would hopefully say, “Out of Darkness Comes Light.”
