I look in the mirror and see

A 12-year-old girl looking back at me

She has scars and bloodstained hands

She told me than her father slit her hands

He beat her until she could no longer move

She smiled at me while she said not to be sad

Because someone who is extremely mad

Is shooting up a school, because he hurt to much

By then, I got sick and san out of the house in a rush

I looked at my reflection in the creek

I saw a young 8-year-old boy he looked Greek.

He had a broken neck and blood soaked clothes

He told me he killed him self, but not worry over his woes

Because someone, somewhere is hurting, while his pain is over

Someone promised their daughter that they would be sober

For her, forever, but he beat her again, because he was drunk

Some teen who was beat his whole life, is labeled a punk

He ran from the abuse and now he roams the streets without a home.

A young kid’s family was murdered and she is all alone.

A girl about 15 was hurt most of her life

Once at the age of 4  a young buy cut her with a knife

And she got blamed for it, even though it wasn’t her fault.

From all the stuff that happened her put her heart on a halt.

If you go up to her and ask her if she's okay

She'll look you dead in the eye, lie and say

"Yes, I'm just trying to find my way"
