A bruised and bleeding moon turned its dim gaze upon two shadows dancing in an open field. The field itself was ringed by a barrier of trees and encroaching brush, eager to reclaim the land lost to the incinerating waves of a siege weapon's brutish caress. Though the flames had long since died, the field was painted red by the moon's glow. Shards of moonlight glinted from the skeletal framing of a razed village; the light bouncing off of charred wood and metallic reinforcements. Lights also flashed between the shadows, their implements of pain bounding erratically through the darkness to embrace and repel each other. This was the dance of the shadows, each vying to banish the other. The cold metal between them was their salvation and their destruction; the contrast as great as that of the garbed figures and their glowing weapons. Missing a step, one of the dancing shadows fell out of rhythm. Picking up on his formidable partner's stumble, the other shadow took the opening opportunity to end their affair with a deadly embrace. The glinting metal disappeared into the stumbled shadow, pushing out a gasp. The victor lowered his fading partner with just a whisper: "Scavenger, I hope you are more satisfied in death than you were in life."
