This was a raw depiction of dread through acceptance of things not going according to plan. My future is in jeopardy due to financial aid and there seems to be no one to help. All I want to live for is to help people and that is halted in its tracks for now.

Control Freak’s Nightmare

Sometimes you just have to let go of things

For the sake of your heart and mental stability.

Just breathe…

It is difficult to stop the tears

While feeling let down by your own bright expectations.

The lamentations—

The sound of your world breaking

Under pressure like a supernova,

Only visible through years of hoping.

We build monuments to the gravest tendencies.

Your hands and eyes are deceived by reaching out to memories--

Crushing your fingers,

Imploding the city you have built,

Bombs exploding on the horizon,

And guns unloading into your ribcage…

We follow trails to our own defeat—

A grave dedicated to everything we have lost.

Yet we let go and ride the winds

Because we hold to the belief that

After the rain of grief comes the sun.

Please, crack the darkness around us

And burn away what is so carefully hidden—

Our strength.

Hold my down-trodden life gently

As I learn to let go…

To go with the flow.
