Just found this in an old notebook. I was channeling an old love indeed...About love, as usual.

The Tide Returns

Light in a shining presence...

Following the flowers in the field of your heart,

We are passing through the soft rain of all you fear.

We are here.

Are we shadows in this place?

Are we unreal, unable to do anything but exist in the

Essence of this world?

In this realm, we can choose to disappear,

But still we stay.

Surges of joy flood and learn to tide

With the passing breath of each day.

The pages erupt into a freedom I have never known

As a stillness that moves suddenly through the spirit

Captivates the heart.

It’s here I find you as well.

Your face is all I see in the mists of time—

Past, present, and future.

I find you in this field of light and flowers.

Through the shadows, we are caught in the etherealness of this life.

You follow me and I follow you,

Finding freedom and joy

That surges and tides on a page.

This is the summer of hearts—

Rain or shine.

The light is soft on your face

And peace is permeating your aura,

Even in fear and doubt’s midst—

Even in pain and grief.

We are here in the moment,

Always together,

Always one;

Caught in the arms of life.

That tides are another time keeper makes me wonder about your two recent poems being connected.

I hope you are currently feeling like you will (or want to) live forever, that temporary sense of immortality we sometimes achieve while dreaming makes a great memory.

This was very old. No, they were not connected....I tend to keep notebooks, and due to nostalgia, I read them from time to time and post.

Perhaps immortality is a reality, but not in this life. I hope that the spirit I feel inside will be roaming the universe for a good time though...and that the love I feel now will be eternal.

I am smiling indeed--my dreams are being realized as I go.
