Writer’s Block

Writer’s Block you’ve got me
I look at the blank sheet
The same blank sheet
I’ve been looking at for a week

I sit down to write some poetry
But the words just won’t come
Writer’s Block you’ve got me
I think you have just won

I see the words there in my head
Floating round and round
I get my pen and paper out
And dammit they’ve all gone

I sit down to relax with a coffee
I see the poem form
I rush to get the paper
And again they have all gone

Frustration, anger, emptiness
Emotions you induce
Why can’t you let me write a line
And remove your tightening noose

Be calm, Be Calm is the mantra that I use
It will help the creative flow,
I know the words are waiting
For this dam-ned block to go

Writer’s Block I hate you
You make me feel so empty
I cannot write a single thing
Writer’s Block YOU WIN!!
