crisp, clear

the isicle knives

cut the warmth

leaving me cold

shivering with loss

  *

slippery, unseen

the black ice

 sends me sliding

down that harrowing path

of rumination

*

condensation trails

from laboured breath

on winter's heartless night

freezes anguished pleas

as they excape, unheard

*

diamond tears crystalize on cheeks

loosing thier struggle against the chill

encouraging the following flood

to remain hidden

defeated

*

frost bit heart

stares into the fire

hoping to be re-born, rekindled

by some lost art of wizardry

or unpossed potions

*

foam crested waves

oblivious to his frigid heart

keep thier liquid secrets

leaving me ignorant

and dangerously exposed

*

surreal silence

like melting snow at dawn

awakens me suddenly

to find me weeping, imprisoned

in the icy embrace

of abandonment
