a story from a real event I experienced in school which made me think a little more about myself.

So thin and fragile paper is

torn from hinges and ripped to shreds.

One day in class

I met the paper man

I was only a child then.

Say something mean

and give him a tear

my teacher said

the kids passed him around

shred after shred

they did as our teacher said.

You're worthless and weak

stupid and ugly.

Tear after tear

the paper man began to fall apart

by the time he reached the teacher

he was in pieces

not a part of him was still connected.

This is what happens when you insult

your words can rip others apart.

We can say something nice

tape up the tears

but he will never be the same

a mangled figure

forever cursed

with irremovable scars

and a broken heart

This is interesting. I don't understand what a paper man is that some kind of writer? And why is he hated?

In class our teacher made a little paper man and we did an exercise like this to prevent children from bullying, it showed how words can effect people.
