How I wish you could see
the great man I'm growing to be.
I had to leave you high and dry
because all I wanted was dependability,
but you were a man masked by silence;
your instability was equal to my swelling insecurity.
I was only a boy full of curiousity,
with unmatched creativity.
I yearned to share words of sincerity
with a father bathed in negativity.
You once told me all I had was irresponsibility,
now I'm leading a life of prosperity.
You taught me one thing,
that is what not to be,
So watch me take my steps to serenity
as you lay in a bed of inability.
