(Shiranui)

I watched the battle in silence, focusing on the strangely familiar wolf God below. She threw her reflector at the demon sending waves of pain throughout his rampaging heads. Slamming the ground with each head hoping to pin the amature goddess down. She gracefully dodged each attack with steps like she had wings on her paws, dancing in mid-air. Who was she? I've never met her before or even seen her. It's like she came out of nowhere. My gaze met the sky as I focused on my senses. Her scent was strangely familiar... just like mine...

A loud cry from the demon signalled his death. I turned my attention back to the 8-headed serpent, not surpried to see Nagi swiftly slice each head off with his glittering sword. Each head fell with a crash onto the hard earth. He then rushed to his beloved Nami who awaited for his return, their arms wrapped around each other like they had little time left together. The strange wolf watched them with careful eyes. Another stranger approached the white wolf, a little girl. She mounted the wolf, as the wolf and girl began to leave darkness swirled above the gathering. Growing in strength with each passing second a stone began to form at the core. I wasn't going to allow this to happen. Aimed right above Nagi, it prepared to end his life. It fell at an incredible speed eager to kill Nagi. My paws gripped the earth and launched me towards Nagi.

alt

I braced myself as I landed beside him, the weight of the boulder fell upon my shoulders pushing me towards the ground. I held the rock upom the blades of my shoulders as I waited for Nagi to move. The small gathering stared at me with surprise, especially the white wolf. I threw the boulder away once Nagi retreated to Nami. I glared at the goddess who returned her gaze, confusing clouded her eyes. She too was curious.

I fell to the ground as my shoulders ached from the boulder, still watching the wolf. I felt Nagi swipe me off the ground and carry me back to Kamiki Village, unaware of my curiosity for the strange wolf. I watched her till she disappeared from my sight as Nagi carried me away.

In Nagi's arms I thought of her. I couldn't quite figure her out. She had appeared out of nowhere with the little girl. I needed more information, more than what I have. It wasn't enough. I scrambled out of Nagi's grip and raced to find the wolf again. I ignored his call as I searched.

I found her in Orochi's lair, talking to the girl who sat upon her shoulders. I began to walk towards them but stopped. A door appeared beside the wolf. But it wasn't just any door, it was the set for time travel. Then it hit me. They came from another time and place, the wolf I needed to watch didn't need my concern. She was me, but from another time. They walked through the door and disappeared back into their own world. I felt an urge to follow them anyway, prancing to the door I stepped through the portal, awaiting for what may come.

The dark atmosphere in the snow covered wonderland I stepped into was different to what I was used to. I scanned the area for any danger but found nothing, I relaxed a little. I aimlessly wandered through the thick forest, admiring the beauty of the new landscape. I looked at my shadow that hung around my paws, mimicing my movements. I gasped as it began to slowly disappear, the surrounding forest too began to grow dark.

alt

The only thing that lit the darkness was my radiating light and solar flair that hovered on my back. I looked up, a feeling of ice shot through my body. It was cold...too cold... It was the distant volcanoes of this area, they were dying. Their lava dimmed in the intense cold. This was not a natural happening. A sudden gust of icy air tore at my coat, whiping stray whisps of fur out of place. If only I were an ice god, I'd cope with the cold a lot better then I was now, but I was a sun goddess. Even I, shiranui, Goddess of the sun couldn't compare to the natural beauty of ice.

alt

I wrinkled my nose as the scent of my resurrected self followed the wind. I broke into a hard run as I chased the scent. Slowly fading as the wind died down. Snow flew as my paws dug into the snow for grip. The smell came from within a tower. The tower of the two demons Lechku and Nechku, keepers of time. Once inside I could hear several footsteps. One belonged to the wolf but the other remained a mystery. I leaped up the stairs and ledges till I reached the top, the heart of Lechku and Nechku's lair. The scent was near but not close enough. It suddenly became warmer, my heart kept a steady beat but danger was near. I could sense it.

alt

Suddenly Nechku appeared, glaring at me with a dark look in his shadowly owl figure. All I could do was stare back at him, remaining completely calm. We stayed like that till she came. I came. I felt her gaze but I continued to watch Nechku. Nechku turned his attention to my resurrected form and began his attack. He ignored me and focused on her, lashing at her with various attacks. My celestial brush strokes were quick and delt a few slashes at the weakened owl while my other figure thrashed her reflector at the enraged demon.

alt

Nechku fell and began to spark on the icy surface, electricity pulsed externaly from his now frail body. A gold gear clattered beside me, i picked it up with my fangs and held it in my mouth for future use. The white wolf dashed to Nechku and was about to finish him off when a wall shattered. Lechku and another stranger where locked in combat. The stranger locked into Lechku's face and thrusting the legendary sword (forgot name) into its face. The wolf and I watched in shock while the clueless human attacked recklessly, not knowing what Lechku and Nechku can do if together. A small voice screamed at the thrashing human, "No! Oki, get outta there!"

alt

I turned my head and glimpsed at a little green spot on the wolf's nose. It began to bounce up and down, it was a poncle or "wandering artist". I too had a poncle but I betrayed him and followed the white wolf, I wondered where he would be now. I felt ashamed. The human, Oki, the poncle yelled at ignored the his cry. Suddenly, Nechku rose from the ground and joined Lechku. The clock in its stomach began to move, it was coming...

alt

Lechku shoot Oki off throwing him to the ground and hovered right beside Nechku, the clock continued to tick on their bellies. Growing louder with each tick. Oki rose again and leapt at the twin demons.

"OKI!" the poncle cried once more.

Oki went ahead with his desire, closing in on the motionless owls. The clock on their stomachs chimed a deep chime. This was it, I braced myself.

The world around us began to slow, slowing till everything stopped. Even the colour of our world changed, inverting it... They stopped time. Oki froze mid-leap, freezing right in front of Lechku.

alt

"What...is...this...I...can't...breathe..." the poncle gasped through each breathless word. "Oki...move..."

alt

Oki tried to fight the force, struggling in his motionless state. Lechku and Nechku began to move, Lechku approached Oki and raised his sharpened cane. Oki stared into the face of death, unable to save himself.I fought the fury of time, the swirl of darkness that kept me here melted away as my light broke through. I flew across the ground then leapt in front of Oki, shielding him with my life.

alt

The cane pierced my back and through my chest, I flung the gear at Nechku and Lechku. Shattering their clocks as it bounced off each other, time began to move again. Lechku threw me over a ledge, I hung over the ledge as my claws dug into the hard surface. The white wolf rushed to pull me up, Oki followed soon after assisting the wolf. Lechku and Nechku flew higher up the tower to escape any more attacks. Oki and the white wolf spoke to each other under their breaths. He then let out an ear splitting roar while the wolf almost sung a howl, purifying a nearby tree.

alt

alt

I layed on the ground withstanding the pain as it pulsed through my frail body. I felt my power disappear at that moment, revealing my true self. A normal white wolf. The solar flair shattered into a thousand tiny diamonds laying around me. Blood gushed out my open wounds that surrounded me in a deep puddle. My snow white fur melted into a crimson red, dying the shattered fragments a rich red. Oki morphed into his wolf form before me, his sword slung around his shoulder. I layed there motionless aside my shallow breaths. The white wolf wandered away, higher up the tower in search of Lechku and Nechku.

alt

"Thank you, Shiranui." Oki tenderly said.

I cast a grateful look at him then closed my tired eyes.

"Hey, Shira, are you ok?" a familiar voice sparked my memory.

I felt pressure on the tip of my nose, I opened my eyes and found Ishaku sitting on the end of my nose. I wagged my tail in happiness. Oki sat nearby as I spoke to Ishaku. I signalled Oki to follow the wolf, he obeyed obediantly and dashed off.Minutes later a distant screech echoed through the mountains. The wolf and Oki returned slightly hurt but over all ok.

alt

The green poncle began to speak, "Hey, Shiranui what are ya doin here?"

"She came to protect you, she almost killed herself doing it too." Ishaku grumbled.

"By the way, my name is Issun and this is Ammy" gesturing to the white wolf.

Mother Amaturasu... so i'm her... and she's me... I needn't be here, I fulfilled my purpose and needed to return home . I felt the broken fragments of my solar flair begin to restore, its burning presents confirmed it.I struggled onto my feet and summoned the gate of time. Ammy, Oki, Issun and Ishaku stared at me confused.

"Thank you, Amaturasu..." I chimed in a bell like voice and staggered through the portal.

I fell upon the soft grass as I exited the portal. My eyes closed and I never regained the strength to open them again...
