1st affirmative speaker

Sport without spectators is like pizza without toppings. Good morning adjudicator, chairperson, opposition team, timekeeper/s and members in the audience. The topic for today's debate is, spectators are beneficial to sporting events.

We the affirmative team define this topic as spectator parents and family a supportive member in the crowd who encourages the players, are beneficial resulting in good; favourable or  advantageous, to sporting events a fun outdoor activity.

As first speaker I will be talking to you about that spectators give support and encouragement to the players and that players are eager to play better. Our second speaker, ____,will refute and will also be telling you that family love watching their kids be happy and that parents are encouraging their children to be healthy.

Our third speaker, ___, will be telling you that parents use sporting events to spend time with families. She will also refute and sum up our teams case. Our fourth speaker, ___ will give a brief speech of thanks.

Before I start my arguments how would you feel if you had to tell your parents YOU CAN’T COME? How do you think your parents would feel?

Sport without spectators is like pizza without toppings. To begin with, spectators encourage the players. For example, spectators give positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement is when a favorable outcome, event, or reward occurs after an action, that particular response or behavior will be strengthened and repeated.

Also, when you are losing the spectators encourage you. You end up playing your best and winning and then you feel good and happy. Finally, National Geographic did a study where one person would shoot with no spectators and then shoot with spectators.

Her shots without spectators were terrible. But then when there were spectators encouraging her she got most of her shots in. In conclusion, when spectators are encouraging you play terrific. Sport without is like pizza without toppings

Secondly, you are eager to play better. For example, when you are at training you put in 100 percent but on gameday when you hear your family screaming out your name you put in that extra 50 percent and play the best you can.

Also, when your family is watching you want to make them proud so you play your absolute best. Finally, if family members come to your game that live far away you want to not disappoint them. To sum it up, when spectators come to watch you you play your absolute best.

So, Adjudicator, chairperson, ladies and gentlemen. We the affirmative team strongly believe that spectators are beneficial to sporting events because they encourage you when you are playing and you are always eager to play better with spectators.
