The Night

They wandered into the night

The cold wind began to bite

As snow fell from the sky

The warm of fall began to die

Their boots crunched in the snow

The blue moon hung low

Wolves began to howl

As a chorus of hooting came from the owls

White puffs of glittery white

Fell into that cool night

They watched it in awe

Trying to savor what they saw

Cold began to seep through their clothes

Even to the bottom of their toes

But they didn't notice

They didn't want to miss this

In the night, snow fell softly

So that everyone could see

This beautiful evening

And magic seemed to enchant everything

Then the Northern Lights

Erupted into the night

How magical it is

When the night is amiss
