He told me I was beautiful.
I loved him for it.

He held my tears as I
cried for my past
his,
and ours.
We counted them,
paying homage
-silently.
Placing daisies
on their
cardboard grave.
I loved him for it.

His hands tangled
themselves in
my curly hair.
Our limbs
nestled
-quietly
in the
crannies of
each others.
I loved him for it.

His adoration painted
my pale skin
with blueish-purple
kisses
-privately
in that old barn.
Holding me,
until my
breath started
to fade.
And I loved him for it.

But, he loved me.
and I hated him for it.
