When I'm at my loneliest.

Loneliness has left me in desperate limbo,

Aching in this infinite core,

I’m lost, I’m crying for a chance at love,

And hope I wouldn’t need much more.

The guilt, regret and confusion sink deep,

When I’m denied my heart’s desire,

They wake me up in purple sleep,

While my soul is still on fire.

Denial that I’m fine without romance,

It wrecks my joyful tone,

Until I’m strutting pure arrogance,

And hate can fill me to the bone.

I know I’m good and believe in beauty,

And sometimes feel it coming,

But meanwhile I’ll just do my duty,

While my heart continues numbing.
