The smell of wheat

The dirt stains on your black sneakers

and the warm breath from your deep breathing,

your cold sweat dripping down the side of your neck

as you kissed me hastily.

You never wasted a moment.

“Wait, they could be up” I would say,

peeking through the small crack in the door.

We kissed through the mosquito net.

All you ever wanted to do was come in for the night.

Stay a little longer.

The wet dew covered the star lit grass which our backs laid upon.

That was the night, when we found love and loss.

The night were things changed and vanished into our world,

Our abode.
