Contradictory Notions

Be true to yourself, stay true to your word,
Notions of morality become absurd,

Patience is a virtue but live for today,
How many contradictions can one say,

Ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife,
Living would boring with no irony in life,

Forgive and forget, life goes on,
If it occurs once again you’ll feel kindness was wrong,

You forget about today if you dwell on the past,
But why look to the future if tomorrow is your last,

They say the Lord works in mysterious ways,
But why trust a man who’s always away,

The bible for inspiration, a priest for hope,
If The Church an urban myth what’s the purpose of the Pope,

All these questions with no reply,
Who cares about truth when there’s always a lie
