I saw a single magpie and was sad it was not two. I saw a pair of magpies so my wish came true. I saw thee magpies flying over me. They dropped a letter at my feet What could it be?

I saw four magpies With elf boys on their wings. I saw five magpies with five silver rings I saw six magpies fly up to the sun which sprinkled gold all over them. They shone and shone

I saw seven magpies with a secret to tell But what it was is mine and theirs - To share would break the spell
