It’s just you and me tonight

In you I believe

You are here when nobody else cares

Always listening to what I have to say

If I was to leave this place

Nobody would notice my absence

I am not even a number, a digit

Nor a barcode

In this cold world

But you, you make me smile again

If only it would last a bit longer

If only we didn’t have to wake up

And face the world again the next morning

Ice cubes gently caressing the glass

So divine, so beautiful

If only that was my reality

In you, I find all the comfort I need

No other offers exist

You have got the monopoly going

I am not complaining, nor am I resisting

It’s just me and the glass tonight
