I heard the laughter and joy from my parents room,

my mom's taking the test,

it's time for bed rest.

She's pregnant with another child, already two months,

to myself I wander another sister?

Or a seventh brother?

IT should be a happy time

but somethings come to mind,

we have little money for all of us

and no room in our 2 apartments.

My mom sits down and cries,

tears sparkling at the edges of her eyes.

I ask if she's alright and if there's anything i can do?

She says she's fine maybe a touch of the flu.

The next day she's really sick with a fever of 102.

A week later she feels fine

but my little sibling she hasn't felt for a time.

We go in for a check-up, to make sure she's fine.

I hear the cries of sadness and pain coming from the doctors room.

We all rush in taking up too much space.

"What's wrong?" One of my brothers asks.

My mother lost the child to the cold.

All the blood rushes from my body

and all my thought of money and strife

They wouldn't matter if I could just give you life.

We would'be made it through

I would've worked, just for you.

I'm sorry that you're gone,

I wish you could've been.

I love you bro

I love you sis
