And so on an afternoon, When I am all spent, From a lack of insight, And a constant thought, Which produces no thought, I say it is finished.

My only true claim, To be different, My only true claim, To possessing a gift, A higher calling, Deserts me, Leaving me high and dry.

But not dry enough, For my eyes seem clouded, But I shall not be defeated, I shall not surrender, I refuse to forget, The joy that writing brings, I refuse forgetfulness.
