Have you ever been sitting inside during a rainstorm, the thunder and lightning crashing around you? Yeah, this is a short poem about that.

Sitting inside,
it’s raining out there.
The wind, it hollers.
Lightning flares.
Rain lashes down
on window panes.
A tip-and-tapping.
Branches sway.
A crack and crackle,
thunder rolls.
Across the sky,
a storm unfolds.
Inside, the fire
crackles warm
in our safe haven
from the storm.
Outside, outside
the time goes on.
So feels in here
it’s hardly gone.
Dear friend or lover,
hold me tight,
as it will rain
throughout the night.
