Toronto Blue Jay's catcher, Russell Martin, put on a really good performance offensively last night in a 8-5 win over the Texas Rangers.

Martin went three for four at the plate and collected three RBIs.

Toronto went up 3-0 at the top of the third inning.

At the top of the fourth inning, the Jays scored three more runs.

The Jays went up 8-0 at the top of the sixth inning when Yangervis Solarte and Martin hit solo home runs.

The Rangers finally got on the scoreboard at the bottom of the sixth inning when Shi-Soo Choo hit a solo home run.

Texas managed to score another four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but that's all.

Jay's closing pitcher, Roberto Osuna shut down the Rangers in the ninth inning and recorded his third save of the season.

Ranger's Adrian Beltre went three for four at the plate last night.

Ranger's starting pitcher, Matt Moore, lasted just 3.1 innings, gave up five hits, five earned runs, four walks, and struck out a batter.

Jay's starter, Marco Estrada, gave up five hits, an earned run, a walk, and struck out seven batters in sixth innings pitched.

Game two is tonight.
