This sickly heart

Beats on and on

Staggering tries

To live again

In such a harsh world

It has broken at last

Willing to live

Willing to try

It carries on

To the next day

Facing the end

Laughing at death

Taunting the fate

Of a weak heart

What can I do

What can I say

My heart gives in

To sweeter poison

In the end

I am as weak

Poisoned by love

Sentenced to death

This sorry soul

Shuffles along

Rattling chains

Of woven lies

Desperate cries

Of a lost soul

Drowned in the smiles

Of passers-by

End comes at last

Soft as a kiss

No pain

And no cries

Silent embrace

Carries me back

……

...

……

To life
