Innocence is a write about the relationship between the young and the old, the link between yesterday and today and how one shapes the other in good or bad ways.

INNOCENCE:
His smile showed the laughter of a million peacocks
Beautiful and plain seducing
Calming the depths of a sinister storm
His smile took me back to my yesteryears
His grace exploded in the rain
His every movement imprinted forever by the drops
We sat in the silent rain and talked
What about tomorrow i asked
Tomorrow the birds will be more gracious
The wind will be less bitter
The drying streams will feed from the tears of the gods
The caked earth will breathe from the shadow of the sun
The masses will eat from the hand of the divine
And then i cried
To the foolishness of the bitter truth
Truth that will darken the smile of yesteryears
I cried for the caked earth that will choke on its hunger
My tears dampened the spirits of the faithless streams
I cried for the masses that belong to the depths of the wretched.
Then, the smile visited my innermost fears
The grace was stunned by the coldness of my trembling heart
Afraid of the darkness that tomorrow brings
His innocence was questioned by the simmering storms
And he looked up to me for direction
For a path back to his innocence
To the rain that poured yet never touched his beauty
His eyes questioned the dampness of the shining sun
He wondered about the ravens in the land of the living
Herein lies my today i offered
This is the route that all innocence leads to
In our believing that the rain will not touch our beautiful souls
We ended up being carried by the raging winds
Our desires then became corrupted
We stopped dancing in the rain with a smile
With the fading of the smile, the blotting glares swept over the land
Filling the streams with dirt and strangling the life out of the earth
Tomorrow corrupts your innocence.
No, he said, my smile will feed the generations to come
My innocence will blight the gloomy seeds
And the ravens will circle no more.
His eyes did not mirror my disease,
I was happy for tomorrow resembled my yesteryears.
