Gunshot
Marks a violent start
Timer begins to tick
Constant fight to get to the front
To win
These first steps
Prepare you for the rest of your journey
On track

A stitch forms
You hit this wall. That Builds.
A crack appears
Giving up
This wall
Crumbles
The Path
Clears

You stand
Stumble
And try once more
As hope grows
Speed builds
You stick to these clothes
That wear you so well

You are ready
For this final stretch
Completely alone
Surrounded by strangers

You finally cross the line
In this human race.
