In this poem, I'm basically begging one of my best friends to stay in high school because he's destroying his life otherwise.

Why are you being such a chicken

It’s the second time you won’t listen

It feels like talking to a brick wall

Cuz the little bit of intelligence left in you won’t heed at all

You want to drop out of high school its danger

Cuz you’ll be always broke – never to put a ring on a girl’s finger

If you keep being street you’ll find it your home

And I don’t want you to scavenge and roam

What really baffles me is you can have the biggest scare

And then when it’s over forget it and not care

You say that you’ll be careful next time

But you may not have more opportunities to read the warning sign

I just want to beat some sense into you without breaking something

Because you are a runaway train not caring for anything

It’s like you were born with a death wish; it’s crazy

But you gotta stop flirting with that skank named Lazy

You also have another slut named Don’t Give a Damn

And I can guess what you might say: ‘It’s the way I am’

I know you’re a pimp but you have some deadly bitches on your shoulders

And don’t think you can skate by and rely on the generosity of others

Better is a public back-handed slap to the face than hidden love

Glance above what you’re thinking and consider what made these words thereof

I’m not trying to be a prick

But your actions will later make you sick

Nobody will help you because the world is cold

You think people at school are bad? Life will assault you eightfold!

Whose gonna hire a drop out kid

They’ll say, ‘he was a freshman, sophomore, junior, and that’s all he did

It’s hard enough getting work without going to college

I understand if you don’t want to go there; but this is too close to the edge

And no, you will not get rich off of selling pot

One day you’ll get caught – I wouldn’t risk it over a stupid flowerpot

One more misstep and you’ll fall to your death

And I never want to utter with my breath

At a funeral that you were a bro who

Is now not with us because of what he didn’t do

You have a point, I should mind my own business

If you put holes in your brain, that’s fine I guess

If you want to put a bigger one there with a bullet

Then do what makes you happy – go ahead and pull it

But I don’t want that! You already lost your mind

Don’t lose your head too; you’re not seeing straight; it’s like you’re color blind

I hate school just as much as you do but I’m tired of wanting more

So you should stay in school or you’ll always be poor

I know a highschool drop out, and he's actually doing pretty well for himself.
