I run and crash my way through the misty damp forest. Thin young sticks cut my skin and tangle in my dark hair as I run through. The air in my throat is sharp and painful. I tumble and fall down a steep hill of wet mud and grass, I close my eyes and try to brace for impact. I land on my chest with the air knocked out of me, my right arm in front of my face.I choke when air rushes back into my lungs. I open my eyes and I focus on the rain drops covering the grass and moss of the forest floor. I can smell the old rain of the forest. Everything is silent except for my heavy breathing and my heart beat in my ears. I get up on my trembling arms and look through my tangled dark hair and to what I think is a puddle in front of me.my vision is blurred from the water in my eyes. I fall back down feeling exhausted from my run. I scold myself for a moment and work up the strength to stand on my feet.

When I stand I rub my eyes to clear my vision and notice, I’m not near a puddle but a sapphire clear lake. The sounds of the forest that I startled return  but are distant to me as I see the beast. Across the lake on a hill of floating glow dust, intense cat like blue eyes stare intelligently on me. Black scales wrinkle under it’s eyes as blue smoke rolls from it’s nose. I can’t see much of it. It takes it’s first clawed step towards me, emerging from the dark cover of an ancient tree. The black dragon smoothly steps along on top of the lake like black satin falling over the end of a chair, making it’s way to me.

Entranced by it’s sleek movements I forget about the cuts along my arms and legs and the ache over my body. There’s only me and this dragon. The black dragons face is in front of my own and I forget how to breath where it remembers by blowing a smoky kiss into my face.It studies my face like it’s taking notes. I try to mimic a statue. It sits back looking down on me. I stay put and look any where but at it.

The dragon walks around me with it’s head to my right and it’s tail ending in front of me, it completes a circle. I can feel it’s essence against me. I close my eyes and feel air running under my open hands. The air travels over my hands and up my arms, over my closed eyes. It’s bright and I open them noticing the gold light embracing me. I gasp and feel a rush of excitement through my body. I look up to the dragon who is standing in front of me watching curiously. It’s eyes are wide.
The gold currents around me stop.

The dragon approaches again but this time I keep my eyes opened and fixed on it. I look up too it's enormous height and try to take in all of it's slender dark body. Trying to capture it in my memeory at this moment. It's wings are delicate and match their owner in size, blocking out any scenery behind the dragon. My eyes travel up it's long slender neck and stop on it's sapphire cat eyes. The dragon stops a couple of feet in front of me and closes it’s eyes. The gold currents of air return, flowing over the dragons majestic ebony body. Blue tribal looking swirls cover it’s body and glow. I step closer to the dragon this time and the gold current comes to me, embracing my left hand and going up to my arm. Like magic, it takes my hand and places it on the dragon's lowered head. the blue swirls quickly travel up my arm and tattoo my body. The dragon lifts it’s head, opens it’s eyes and looks at me. “....Hello” A female voice came from it, loudly in my head.
