A poem for the soldier who died

Dear Mr Soldier,

Your body may be lifeless,

Your body may start to rot,

But believe me Mr Soldier,

You'll never be forgot.

Your blood may be cold,

Your beating heart may stop,

But believe me Mr Soldier,

You'll never be forgot.

You're alive in the hearts of others,

You are loved and missed a lot,

Dear Soldier, Brave Soldier,

You'll never be forgot.

Very thoughtful. It would have been a great gift to a veteran this Veteran's Day.

I don't believe in heroes, just brave people, and the idea the brave live on beyond their mortal body through the legacy they leave behind. I particularly liked how you emphasized "Brave Soldier" for that reason.

Thank you! I also didn't want to say heroes because I don't really like war but I guess I'm just saying thanks for them all being brave :) I don't think I really write much poetry but I guess it's nice when I do :) Thank you again!
