Between the crosses blood spilled poppies grow.
Among the dead living spirits flow.
In Flanders fields the soldiers lay.
At home where mother wipes my tears away.
 
Guns so loud as violence screams.
Waking up in darkness wishing it was just a dream.
The men trudging through the dirt feeling all alone.
Sitting by the window hoping daddy will come home.
 
Mommy's heart tries to stay strong as she prays.
The men fighting without sleeping for days.
One by one the men fall to the muddy ground.
Our phone rings mommy answers and a tear rolls down...
