Please forgive me if i don't scream

you see

i've been through this before.

Kneeling in front of you

with my hands on my eyes

you always told me things

would be fine.

That i wouldn't have to worry.

That nothing was as bad as it seemed.

That tearing at my face

or wasting off into space

couldn't get much worse

than the noise in this place.

So i must admit

what you're telling me now

makes just as much sense;

that the less i say

and the less i dream

the more i become like what's killing me

you see.

Please forgive me if i don't scream.
