For Lack Of A Better Word:

If you asked me to describe your eyes

I’d point mine at the ground.

“You’re eyes” I’d say, as I blushed red,

“Are - for lack of a better word - Brown.”

-

If you asked me how you looked tonight

I’d hyperventilate

“um well...” I’d say, as I gasped for air,

“For lack of a better word – Great!”

-

If you asked me if I loved you

I would be forced to confess

That the best response that I could give would be

“For lack of a better word – Yes.”

-

If you asked me what I wanted

I wouldn’t have a clue

How to put it better than

“For lack of a better word – You.”

-

If you asked me what I thought of you

I’d want to prove my affection

I would run through all the words I knew

Until I finally made my selection.

But I’d groan at their inadequacy

Even before I said them

Then I’d mumble apologetically

“For lack of a better word – Perfection.”
