Your eyes would sparkle with so much ease

A smile would appear that would make them shine even more

Your eyes now remain dim a dark muted finish

Now smiles come at a price and are quick to disappear

I look in those eyes and see nothing but emptiness and a wounded heart

Yeah life has given you some hard times

With no choice to discard them

But all you can do is learn from them

And move on to try and become a better person

But right now I feel sorry for that girl in the mirror
