What had they done
What was their crime
A boy shot in the leg
A girl hit by a grenade

The guilty fight
While the innocent suffer
We buy guns
While a child loses his supper

Morality is a joke
Freedom is a joke
We're all guilty
In the eyes of our brothers

We praise to a god
Not up in the sky
But down in our pockets
And the joke's on us

If a child cried
Cried for your help
Would you offer your hand
Or turn the other cheek

As the world burns around us
We sit up high
High on our thrones
Drinking of the earth

Who will judge us
For what we have done
Will we ever learn
From what we have done

Could I have been a better person
