The Summer Love

Everyday you wake me
Your rhythmic body
The same sounds
But always different
Never tiring
Never ending
Creeping ever close at night
Only to stay further in day
Glistening gray
You tease me as you wave goodbye
Coming closer
Always leaving
Gently caressing my feet
I touch you back
You leave me again
I get closer
You threaten me
A gentle violence
I get too close
You sweep me away
I cannot risk that today
You're the same as ever
You'll never change
Celestially bound in servitude
You wish to be free
That's what your rhythms tell me
Come closer
I'll whisper to you
My darkest secrets
Deepest dreams
You slip away
Back from where you came
If only you knew
It simply isn't meant to be
Our time together
Fading away
Keep on glistening gray
Perhaps one day you'll finally sweep me away
That day has yet to come
I watch you go
Wave goodbye
That sound
Bittersweet memories
