It started out as a poem with the simple phrase "I want to fly away, on ebon wings, through the midnight sky" but then it turned into a song about the way I'm feeling right about now.

Fly away, fly away
I want to fly away, on ebon wings, through the midnight sky.
I hear you calling me, come fly away with me.
The only light I see, is the light of the stars, and the iridescent glow of the moon.
This night, it’s cold comfort is suffocating.
My dreams are not mine.
Time has stolen me once again.
Fly away, fly away, into the night.
I have seen much better than this.
These voices are killing my hope, I’m long since dead
All I wonder, these broken wings, can they take me away?
I hear you calling me, come fly away with me.
I hear you calling me.
Fly away, fly away.
Come fly away with me.
Fly away, fly away.
Into the night.
I have seen much better than this.
I hear you calling me.
Fly away, fly away.
I hear you calling me, come fly away with me.
Fly away, fly away.
Into the night.
I have seen much better than this.
