She lost it all at the age of six,

Somewhere amoungst the dirt and sticks,

The freckles upon his arm were eleven years old,

He gave her his coat so she wouldn’t get cold,

But the frost that she felt came from within,

As he introduced her to the meaning of sin,

They were playing a game of hide-and-seek,

She didn’t like how his version made her feel weak,

She said that his touch was causing her pain,

He said it wouldn’t hurt when they did it again,

She held on to the ground and the clay in her nails,

Closed her eyes and wondered if she should tell,

She thought maybe this is the way your supposed to show love,

Then her tear squeezed out with his very last shove,

She ran straight home when he let her up off the ground,

Hoping and praying that he never comes back around.
