How could I be so foolish?
Thought I knew what I wanted
I took the time to get to know you
As it turns out I don't know you at all

My beautiful muse how I'd love to abuse
Brutally... honestly the way you abuse yourself
You've lost yourself somewhere along the way
What happened to the person I thought I loved?

My beautiful muse, your beauty has faded
The light inside is dampened and greyed
My heart displayed like a target on my sleeve
How could you betray me so brutally?

The fool and his muse doing the dance of deception
I'm pretending I'm not hurt by your constant rejection
Foolish enough to be blinded by my own misconception
you were heartless enough to repay with manipulation
