Do we walk with, or against our Father, God, in Heaven?

A great many people, including myself, when not cautious of the fact, say sure Lord, I'll follow you, or I'll walk with you. Now Lord, if you'll just follow me, I have a better way. In other words, we don't allow God to lead us except in a way that we want to be led. Every day we tell God who, what, when, where, why, and how, we would believe, and how much we would do, and where and where not we would be willing to go. Walking with God? Hardly! We are making demands that God walk with us and thus finally see things from our point of view. Walking with God doesn't mean inviting him to go with us, it means going with him and doing his will. It doesn't mean accepting and obeying bits, or parts and pieces of the whole truth that he sends our way. It means accepting and obeying all that he reveals to us. His law is not a list of selections on a jukebox or like food on a buffet bar! If we do his will it means doing all that he indicates that he wants us to do. Obedience can be, and often is, motivated and corrupted by fear, pride, prejudices, and personal ambitions. By selfishness, in ten thousand forms. In the years that Jesus lived among us, he didn't pick and choose the truths he would or would not accept from his Father. He accepted to the death, everything that his Father so willed of him to do. And Jesus, the Son of God is, and or should be, our example in all things. We should walk with God, as the Son of God, and Man, walked with God, our Father, in Heaven.
