A poem.

I saw you standing alone across the room,

in your own little bubble,

away from everyone.

You looked around,

as they passed you by,

no one noticing that you exist

right in front of them.

I feel the same sting in my heart,

that I've felt most of my life,

that you are probably feeling, too.

The sting you get when no one sees you.

When no one cares you exist.

The sting of wondering....

wondering if your life even matters.

I walk up to you, and introduce myself.

You look at me, frightened.

"I'm not going to bite" I smiled,

reaching for you.

I pick you up,

your little nose twitching in the air.

"I know you are afraid...

 but I promise,

you will never be alone again."

Day one: Scared, alone, in a worn out bed.

Today: Happy, nodding off on her favorite pillow on the lap of her best friend (me)

This was very creative... At first I almost thought you were talking about me... But that is a very cute pet that you have there!

Loved the inclusion of the photos. Really made the poem that bit extra special.

Thank you! She's a very special little lady so I thought I'd give a visual of why I wrote the poem. Glad you enjoyed it.
