Your sweet aura calls to me,
Your grin glinting in the light,
Your presence sending shivers through my bones.
My beautiful partner.

I hold you close to me,
Telling you everything, and nothing.
You absorb my feelings without a word,
Knowing, waiting, helping.

Where this time, though?
A little lower, a little higher?
We must keep our love hidden, of course.
Or they would take you away.

We tried to end it last year, remember?
But after months, I couldn’t stay away.
I needed you, yearned for your bite,
Your metallic kiss.
The pain you brought.

I needed my skin to tear and rip,
I needed to see my blood drip,
To remind myself I was still human,
To make myself feel more normal.

You’re better than the purging.
You leave visible scars,
Oh how I’m addicted to tracing them,
My very own masterpieces on my hips.

You’re a more significant lover,
A more permanent friend.
You’re my beautiful self-destruction.
